What is special about O&O Defrag 15?

O&O Defrag 15 supports 8 different basic defragmentation methods (We have just found out 5 methods ). Each method uses different algorithm, so the efficiency and working time are also different.  They are Steal, Space, Complete/Access, Complete/ Modified and Complete/ Name (sorted by powerfulness, from low to high).

Depending on your condition (time and system resource), you can choose the most suitable method. We chose the method Complete/Name during this test. To get highest efficiency, you should choose this method if you have enough time. It took us about 3 hours to defrag full 180GB drive (NTFS).

Time for the deframentation

O&O Defrag 15 took us less time than we expected and absolutely worked faster than most others. We make sure that you can’t have enough patience to defrag 400GB HDD by the default tool by Microsoft . In fact, the time for O&O Defrag 15 to defrag our hard drive is not the shortest, and it depends on how long your hard drive has been used. But the efficiency is the element is hoped the most. Memory usage

O&O Defrag 15 didn’t use much RAM resource while defragging. The computer still works normally without freeze or crash which are very easy to be caused by the other defragmentation tools. We even tried to run some programs while defragging hard drive by O&O Defrag 15, everything worked normally.

Efficiency

You will get the report for every separated partition after it is finished defragging. You can observe your drive status with the most detailed at the bottom of the app during the defragmentation. You can realize the big difference on our tested HDD between after and before being defragged.

We tried to analyze our HDD again by O&O Defrag 15 and the others defragmentation tools, we got the same result.

After the hard drives defrag, we tried to open the large folders and the large files. They were opened faster than before. You can realize that very clearly if you are using a low hardware configuration computer like ours. The hardware system works more smoothly, and the programs are launched faster. The temperature of the computer was clearly lower than before. Our HDD didn’t still sound noisily. Really impressed with its work!
